Anderson University recognizes the importance of technology in the area of academics. The University continually strives to advance the availability and use of technology in classrooms, as well as in the dorms. AU currently has two fully integrated multimedia classrooms/computer labs, one in Vandiver Hall and one in the Watkins Teaching Center. In Watkins, there are two additional classrooms that are equipped with pc/projection systems, supplemented by three mobile systems. The Vandiver Hall teaching areas share two Gateway Destination carts (each with a PC and large-screen monitor); the Fine Arts Center has one Destination cart and one mobile pc/projector system. Each classroom has a network connection available. A general-use computer lab is provided for students in the Watkins Teaching Center. There is also a Mac lab there for the Journalism majors. In addition, the Fine Arts Center complex has a Mac art lab, a music lab, and a CAD lab. The library has a Gateway Destination cart for presentations and provides many computers for student to use for a variety of purposes. All AU dorms are equipped with a wireless networking system that provides students with access to the Internet and to shared campus network drives. Every student-resident and commuting-is provided with an AU email address which can be accessed from the Internet. The Information Services Department oversees all technology on the AU campus.
